Submitted by Stacye: Truth IS stranger than fiction! You just can't make this stuff up! I am astounded at some of the stories that involve the human existence, and just wonder how some people think and function. I often ponder how it can be possible for someone like me, who is very deep and thinks things through, and tries to raise my children the best way possible, and at the same time, there are folks that are like these in the story I am about to share.

This baby's life story begins like this...Her mother is pregnant with her and had one prenatal visit( better than some, believe it or not). This woman thought she had to go to the bathroom, she soon figured out that more was going on than a bowel movement. She reached down and felt for the problem...There it was, a foot was hanging out of her. So, in her infinite wisdom, she grabbed hold of the foot and pulled baby, cord and placenta out in one good swoop!

We are not sure what she did immediatly following, but someone called 911. She then stated that she went outside to flag down cars, although when the paramedics arrived, they said she was rolling around in the grass WITH THE BABY! LMAO! In the nurse's notes from the referring hospital, the RN stated that the baby was covered in grass when it arrived in the ER.

Fast forward 3 days, the baby seems to have a kidney problem, so they want to send the baby to Charleston for further evaluation. They explain to us when they call that they are having some trouble finding the parents, since they have not been back to visit since the mom was discharged. Luckily, by the time our team arrived to pick the baby up, the state police had found mom and dad "in a cave". Not sure what they were doing there or how the police knew to look there, but that's where they were none the less. They are known drug dealers in that county, so the "cave" may be a known dealing area.

Go figure! This story is very sad, but at the same time hilarious! I deal with shit like this frequently. Nothing surprises me anymore. It is just hard to try to figure out from where these people are coming. Their point of reference isn't even on the same planet as mine, yet we are both human beings, and better yet, mothers.
